You have probably heard by now that Duchy Opera will be performing Verdi’s “La Traviata” in Falmouth in 2017. We have now been invited to perform at the Minack Theatre as well, which is an exciting new venture for us.
With this in mind, there is an opportunity for a few new singers to join the Chorus and participate in our opera, which will be a traditional production with lovely costumes. We will be using the Ricordi edition of the score, and performing in English.

We start rehearsals at the beginning of September at Tresillian Village Hall just outside Truro, and we plan to have a Launch Evening when you can meet our director, Richard Jackson (director of our “Elixir of Love” in 2014) and musical director, Paul Drayton, and hear something about the opera and its concept.
We are also seeking soloists. Auditions (some double-cast) will be in October.
Performance dates are:
Falmouth Princess Pavilion, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th of June 2017
Minack Theatre, the week of July 3rd to 7th 2017.
