We had a lovely evening on the 29th of December. Duchy Opera soloists performed a range of Italian music (in Italian) to serenade dinner guests at the hotel, where waiters dressed as gondoliers and diners wore masks. The atmosphere was splendidly festive; our music was very well received and compliments abounded: "Wonderful Voices - Thank you!"
It was appropriate to have Antonio Caiazzo (Italian) and Marc de Jongh (Dutch but Italian-speaking) in the line-up for the first time for this Venetian programme. Thanks go to Paul Drayton for his magnificent accompaniment and also to Cheryl Brendish, Bruce Cross, Sue Lancaster, Saffron Jones, Ian Kinver and Becky Scamp.
